This year, the BMO Ride for Cancer trail ride was cancelled due to hurricane and flood damage, but this did not stop the DalEM Spindoctors. Not only did they find other places to ride, they also exceeded their fundraising goal by more than $8,000. Ultimately, the ten-member team raised $22,150 towards the establishment of Atlantic Canada’s first CAR-T therapy lab. This facility will be equipped to genetically modify patients’ own T-cells to fight their cancer, a promising therapy that cures approximately half of all eligible patients. Dr. Steve Miller was the big fundraiser for the team, raising $13,675! https://fundraise.yourrideforcancer.ca/fundraisers/spindoctors.
