The Department of Emergency Medicine hosted its 25th annual Research Day on May 23, 2023. Turnout to the event was excellent, with approximately 90 participants from all sites and divisions of the department attending virtually or in person.

Keynote speaker

Dr. Corinne Hohl, Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of British Columbia, delivered the keynote address, Emergency Medicine, Science, and the Rocky Road to Learning Health Systems.

Awards

The Top Research Award went to Dr. Jason Emsley for his study, Comparison of Symptoms Associated With SARS-CoV-2 Variants Among Children in Canada.

The Doug Sinclair Resident Research Award went to Dr. James Nunn for Epidemiology and Predictors of Mortality in Burn-Related Major Trauma: An 18-year Retrospective Cohort Study.
