IWK
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is committed to continuously raising the standard of pediatric emergency care across the Maritimes. We operate in a research-rich environment. With 32 active research projects and 11 publications over the past year, we focus on knowledge translation.
In collaboration with pediatric emergency departments across the country through Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC), we participate in numerous research studies on mental health, sepsis, viral surveillance, and vaccine effectiveness.
The IWK is also a founding member of AERO, the Atlantic Emergency Research Organization, which seeks to leverage emergency research studies throughout Atlantic Canada.
We also have a close relationship with Dalhousie’s Health Informatics Program and collaborate regularly with Trauma Nova Scotia.
